MURAL

1998

This triptych was painted in 1998 as a demonstration piece for a lesson on large scale graphics, i.e. billboards and commercial signs on storefronts and buildings – the lesson also focused on using materials that were available at no cost to the painter, such as cardboard, and old classroom chalkboards. The school district where I was teaching at the time had changed out the old green chalkboards and was discarding them; a canvas or panel of this size would have cost a considerable number of USD.
