Museum Exhibit Design . . .

. . . just finished delivering some Edward S. Curtis photogravures for matting and framing . . . so-o-o WTF?? what does Edward Curtis photogravures have to do with anything?

In December 2010 I agreed to develop an exhibit for the Eastern California Museum, a small regional museum in eastern California . . . and, not everyone gets the opportunity to frondle prints generated from negatives of such a well known photographer, let alone DESIGN and install an exhibit that will include photographs of another lesser know regional photographer, Andrew A. Forbes.

The Eastern California Museum recently was the recipient of 30 Curtis photogravures, donated by the Moore Family Trust . . . although the prints are restrikes of the original gravure plates, the acquisition is a significant addition to the Museum’s photo archives.

Several years ago, I was fortunate to view a number of volumes of “The North American Indian” at the Cleveland Natural History Museum while doing some consulting work for the museum in Clevland OH . . . and again, while doing some exhibit planning at the Southwest Museum in Los Angleles CA.
