Yesterday or was it the day before . . . I posted a photo of a squash blossom and today I decided to post the original image . . .
Original . . .
And the manipulated image.
Two or 3 squash blossoms from my grandson’s box garden.
What people are unaware of is that I have been doing photography since 1970 . . . old school darkroom processing . . . shooting with film (color transparency, black & white and color negative) . . . manual & semi-automatic 35mm cameras . . . no digital 24 megapixel digital auto-focus BS . . . No Instagram smart phone social Pinterest disease.
Now my old cameras languish in storage boxes . . . I shoot almost exclusively with my iPod Touch 5G and occasionally with a beat-up 12 megapixel Nikon Coolpix.
My “darkroom” is my iPad 2 . . .
Have a nice weekend.
just got this app today . . . berry nice !!
The app is free, but you can upgrade to allow for use of your photos and graphic stuff for backgrounds other than those provided . . . if you opt for just the free version you can still do a lot of preliminary sketching and such to export to other apps . . . go to the App Store and check it out . . . download it . . . it’s free . . . you’ll love it.
Here’s what I came up with using an image from my photo library . . . first the original image . . .
next came the new tinker Paint app . . . some neon, text, spray paint and smudge . . .
Overlayed the original pic and the tinker Paint image using the Double Exposure app . . . hence the dark bands on the top and bottom margins where the image borders didn’t quite match.
Dumped the Double Exposure image into PhotoForge 2 . . .
And finally . . . more PhotoForge and Diptic to increase image resolution.
p.s. the JOT stylus works just fine with the app . . . if your finger isn’t sharp enuff . . .
well I was all hot to buy the new pencil tool for the Paper app but got a slap in the face when the people at 53 said the tool was only for the iPads with Retina display . . . WTF ?! pissed me off . . .
I almost deleted the app . . . I have an iPad 2 . . . no fancy schmancy Retina display . . . I got the Kindle Fire HD to watch movies . . .
FYI: if you wanna do some cool shit with an app that will let you publish to iBooks, get the the Book Creator app . . . costs $4.99 . . . BUT you can import photos and drawings . . .
so I’m going to spend my $$$ on a Sony QX 10 Smart Lens (camera) for my iPod 5G (no Retina display) . . . the Sony thing costs $271.00 USD and works with my iPod 5G AND the iPad 2 !!! – no Retina display exclusivity.
the people at 53 can take their pencil tool and “shovel it” (Demolition Man) . . .
I still might delete their Paper app . . . I am pissed !!!
I bought the 7″ Kindle Fire HD because it was marked down $40 USD and because of the high definition display . . . I was going to buy an iPad mini but I opted to save $251 USD and get the Kindle Fire . . .
I also wanted an alternative camera . . . the only problem with the Kindle cam is that it’s front facing meaning its great for Skype but you have to find a way to take pics other than yer face without being able to see the display . . . maybe if you get a rearview bicycle mirror that clips on yer glasses and clip it on the Kindle . . .
Right now I’m waiting on a case for the new toy . . .
Another thing . . . the on/off button is hard to feel/find . . . it sits flush with the surface of the Kindle body . . . AND the Kindle is packing some heft for its size . . . it feels just a bit lighter than my iPad 2 . . .
Now I’m waiting to see what improvements come down the pipe for the next generation iPad . . .
